All my questions answered THANK YOU!!!!!
Thanks for this! Great directions - and I finally replaced my old string band with a new polyband - easy peasy!
I use one side of a warping board to warp my 36" rhl. I also really like your idea of the two clamps with the dowel between them. Thanks for the tutorial.
Thank you, this has been very helpful!
Thank you ❤ the best video I have seen on this really really helpful. Sending yarny good wishes from Katy from NZ 😊
Thank you for this video. I’ve been shopping at The Woolery recently for table loom supplies.
How do you fuse it
Jan, You did a fantastic job explaining how and love your authenticity and beautiful energy!
The music on this video makes watching it unbearable.
"If you don't have a hot glue gun...get one." 😂Wisdom for the ages!
What is the name of the adjustable needles? You only mentioned Oxford
What is the name of the first wheel? Video started too late to hear. 1:09
I think it is the Ashford Kiwi. She mentions it in comparison when she tests the Joy 2. I checked out the wheels on their website and it looks right.
Thanks for sharing your skills. I’m new to punching and learned more from you than any other videos I’ve watched.
Oh my goodness, I just love your teaching style, so generous, so expansive, so inviting. Thank you.
can you show how idle works, not just forwards and backwards? I can't find a good visual guide for this because the pattern I'm working with now calls for it and something in my pattern is off and it looks wrong
Using a quilting foot will really help with it staying inline and not getting squeezed out as you sew.
I got such a surprise when you turned it over and said THAT was the right side 🤦♀️🤣🤣🤣
At the local craft store hardly any of the needles have sizes on them. We didn't want to invest in it if it didn't capture my child's interest. Does it matter? Because we are doing everything the videos say and the instructions but the thread is not staying in the fabric.
How about mentioning sizes in inch/cm?
Thank you!
What do you use for warp
The information was very helpful. Thank you for the presentation.
Our pleasure!
Brilliant!!!!!!
The music was a real distraction and if you could go slower and close up of what you're doing that would be helpful.
I love love love all your tutorials! You are an amazing teacher! Thank you so much for your time!!!!!
Could you use a walking foot to help with movement?
Can this be done on a floor loom?
I 'm a beginning knitter and I just finished a long color block scarf in roving yarn after much effort. (I had bought the yarn for a crochet project that I decided not to make). Learning to knit on roving yarn was a nightmare. The yarn kept splitting on me. And forget about trying to fix a mistake and ripping out a row - the fibers get all stuck together and have to be separated forcibly by hand or by scissor. I grew to detest this kind of yarn and will never work with it again. But now I'm worried... is my scarf going to last? It already looks a little fuzzy from handling!
Wow!
diz nuts
Cannot wait to get my studio organized and try this tip!
Yass! spiral bound, the best ever all the time. Cannot wait for Fiber Gift of Christmas 2024!
I would love to try out multiple wheels. I only have a Kromski Sonata, and I have had mixed experiences with it.
Nice job thank you yes I like
What is “around the world” you mention when tying choke ties? Not within 36” of the cross but what is the reason for that? Thank you, I love this video, first time warping on board?
Such a great video!!!
I want to spin like a 3-6cm fiber into a fine yarn what do you recommend? its cats down by the way short hair mostly. like ive read the less weight the spindle has the finest yarn it can produce, but what whorl should I look for?
How about the art or larger flyer set up? Can you change it the same?
Looks great!
Thank you!
Make me want power tools
Does this come with a carrying case cover handle wheels storage for extra yarn
WhenI switched from my supported spindle to my e-spinner (can’t treadle, health issues) the most useful piece of advice I got was ‘start low ‘n slow, dial up as you go.’ Whether it’s the speed you treadle at or the rate your e-spinner spins at, don’t set it too high; similarly, keep your tension low. Once you’ve comfortable with that, dial up your speed and/or tension a little bit. Let your senses tell you where your comfort zone is for that consistent yarn. How does the fibre feel and look when you’re drafting? How does the tension feel? How does the resulting look and feel? Above all, don’t overthink it. Just look and feel. For some people (me included!) this helps to relax into the spin, not to have a death grip onto the fibre, and to settle into a rhythm that leads to an even spin. It’s a bit how kids learn a lot of skills and learn them really, really easily and really, really well. It’s extremely useful if someone breaks down the steps, explains the how and why, but from there on, it’s often useful to take the child’s approach and just… absorb? Get into a zone? The other golden piece of advice I swear by is about staple length. I prefer to work with combed top (lace knitter and fiercely fine spinner because of that) is that I never draft out more than half my staple length. That way I almost never have breakage because it dramatically decreases the amount of weak spots.
thanks!
Candy Ribbon Hooking had a great idea for Oxford punches, just buy the longest needle and tiny rubber washers and now your one needle is adjustable to any loop length you desire!!!
Great video ! Very easy to understand. I am starting out this week, and I like the idea of lashing because using that peg thing is not going to be easy by myself.
Thank you for the troubleshooting breaks! I’ve never tried chain plying but this gives me more confidence that when I do try it, I’ll be able to manage. 😊
Thank you!
so weaver's cloth is different from munk's cloth, right?
Hard to see because your hand obscured the camera
